Chevrolet blew away the competition at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, but the spotlight-stealing model wasn’t exactly a production vehicle. Inspired by the upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie, Chevrolet’s Lego Batmobile was a life-sized model that blew the minds of both kids and adults alike. Perhaps even better, the Batmobile has a full page on the automaker’s website with all the details one could ask for, including a starting price.
Don’t get your hopes up! The all-new LEGO Batmobile comes in at a wallet-breaking $48,000,000. The model is apparently capable of towing up to 120,000 pounds and boasts a whopping 20,000 horsepower, largely thanks to the flaming rocket booster and 60.2-liter V100 engine.
The Batmobile does play host to some of Chevrolet’s innovative technologies, like a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Designed by LEGO master builders, the Batmobile weighs in at just under 1,700 pounds, stretches 17 feet, and took more than 344,000 bricks to build. It took more than 200 hours to design and an additional 1,833 hours to build.
The LEGO Batman Movie officially hits theaters on February 10th. The LEGO Batmobile will also have a spot in an upcoming Chevrolet commercial.
We here at Graff Chevrolet can’t help but smile at what’s surely every child’s dream!
