Last month, The Work Truck Show 2018 in Indianapolis unveiled three new Chevrolet work trucks: the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD. These new fleet trucks bring new functionality to the segment that is long overdue.
Under the hood of each of the potent Silverado models boasts a 6.6-liter Duamax® diesel engine. This engine, mated to an Allison transmission, delivers a whopping 350 horsepower and a staggering 700 lb-ft of torque. The engine is available with a Power Take Off (PTO) option, and each Silverado is available in either a 2WD or 4WD configuration.
But it’s not all about the power. The interior brings greater functionality by way of updated tech. In fact, Chevy calls the new Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD the most connected medium duty trucks in the industry. Available connected technology includes OnStar and Commercial Link, wireless smartphone charging, built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth®, and smartphone compatibility via Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
Order guides will be released this spring, and pricing will follow this summer. Chevy will begin to produce this new line of work trucks in late 2018, meaning we should see the new lineup by early next year at the latest. Stop by Graff Chevrolet later this year for a test drive, to experience these refreshed additions for yourself.
