There’s still a lot of summer left to take your family on an epic summer vacation. But what do you need to do to prepare? Here’s how to prep for your family road trip:
- Pick a destination — and research it. Decide on a new place you and your family have never explored, keeping in mind everyone’s interests. But before hitting the road, take time to learn about the place you’ll be visiting. Knowing its history and some lesser-known attractions can make the trip much more exciting.
- Pack lots of snacks. Just because you’re on the road doesn’t mean you have to rely on fast food and gas station snacks. Pack lots of fruits and veggies and keep them in a cooler that is easily accessible. You can also store bottled water in the cooler. Other snacks to consider include protein bars, trail mix, and jerky.
- Don’t forget the power. It’s not just snacks you’ll need during the trip. Also pack charging cords for all your devices. A power bank (or portable charger) is a great way to ensure no one goes without power for their phones and tablets. And for handheld video game systems, pack some extra batteries.
