If any self-respecting compact car should be able to achieve great gas mileage, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze must have tons of self-respect. Recent findings by the Feds indicate that the new Cruze beats many of its competitors in terms of fuel efficiency.
Over at fueleconomy.gov, you can see that when equipped with an automatic transmission, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze delivers 35 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. These new numbers indicate a 7 percent increase from last year’s model. With a 13.5 gallon tank, this means you can enjoy a 570-mile driving range on the highway.
The fuel efficiency numbers of the Chevy Cruze are better than the Ford Focus by 2 mpg, better than the Nissan Sentra by 4 mpg, and better than the Mazda3 by 1 mpg.
Of course, if you really want to win at the fuel efficiency game, you could just wait until the next-generation 2017 Chevrolet Cruze arrives later this year.
