The Chevrolet Traverse was recently named as one of 2019’s “17 Best Crossover SUVs” by U.S. News & World Report. This isn’t the first time the Traverse has found itself on one of U.S. News & World Report’s lists; the family-friendly SUV was recently named as the publication’s “Best 3-Row SUV for Families” for 2019.
The Traverse’s place amongst crossover royalty is no surprise when considering its eight-passenger capacity, cargo storage space of 98.2 cubic feet and higher-than-average predicted reliability. Even with all that room for cargo, the Chevy Traverse offers an excellent 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.*
Steven Loveday, the U.S. News & World Report journalist responsible for the list, said the Traverse “is a comfortable family cruiser that features a spacious cabin and sufficient power.”
The family-first SUV was awarded the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 5-Star Overall Vehicle Safety Score, which means parents can rest easy when buckling the kiddos into the Traverse. Another likely reason for the Traverse’s inclusion on the list of best crossovers is its standard Teen Driver Technology intended to help keep the newest drivers on the road safe. Convenient touches like a hands-free liftgate likely didn’t hurt the Traverse’s chances, either.
